Symposium of the International Society for the Study of Time (ISST) from June 28 to July 3, 2026, in Cagliari, Sardinia:

At the invitation of ISST, I will be presenting a world first at this year’s symposium: the TM17.

The TM17 “The Hour” is a machine based on an entirely new concept for the sensory perception of time. An hour on this machine also lasts 60 minutes, but it starts at a fast pace and slows down the longer it runs!

This is achieved because the pendulum also serves as the driving weight, and the weight itself acts as the pendulum! When the weight is pulled all the way up at the start, the machine runs quickly with a short pendulum swing. As it runs, the weight slowly moves downward, thereby lengthening the oscillation period accordingly.

As we enjoy this hour visually and aurally, we notice how our body noticeably relaxes and finds peace. The steady slowing of the gentle ticking not only leads to a measurably decreasing heart rate but also to a holistic relaxation of both body and mind.

In a way, the machine teaches us to “take control” of time again and not to fall into stress due to an imposed sense of urgency.

There are 8,760 hours in a year. Let’s enjoy one of these many hours now and then and become aware of their length!

It’s worth a try!

By the way: To get the idea behind this new Time Machine out into the world, I’m offering a small initial run of this machine at a special promotional price of CHF 2,500 (ex-factory, plus local VAT, packaging, and shipping). Reserve one of these unique works of art—objects of time and space—by sending an email to fs(at)schlumpf.ch.
Price of the base (wood, metal): CHF 1,500.

June 2026: One billion dollars ($1,000,000,000,000) was transferred to Elon Musk to fund, among other things, the colonization of Mars. Do investors realize that there is neither breathable air nor water for food production, and that temperatures can drop to minus 120°C?

That’s why I’m committed to making Earth more attractive and beautiful.

I’m therefore offering a 15% “Elon Discount” on all purchases through the end of June 2026 to people who believe in survival on this planet and are taking action to ensure we continue to thrive on this wonderful Earth for a long time to come!

Take advantage of this offer!

May 2026: It is a great honor for me to deliver one of my Time Machines to Philippe Dufour, one of the most influential watchmakers of our time! His comments on my work inspire and motivate me to continue with even greater energy:
"At every exhibition, I have always admired your extraordinary creations. The mechanisms, the gears—it’s magical. When I discovered the TM12, it was love at first sight. I immediately loved it for its dimensions and style.
I told myself it would look right at home in my place!!" Phlippe Dufour, May 2026.

May 2026: The silver-and-black TM12 at the home of entrepreneur and gallery owner Daniel Zimmermann (-> www.jepps.ch) creates a very atmospheric setting!

.

April 2026: Once again, our AHCI exhibition took place in the heart of Geneva, coinciding with the Watches & Wonders fair! The concept of slowness, under the motto “Take a Deep Breath of Time,” has been very well received. The leisurely six-second beat of my new creations offers a beautiful contrast to the hectic pace of our times.

I’d like to draw your attention to next year’s exhibition, which will once again take place in April in Geneva, as always at the IceBergues Gallery.

.

December 2025: At the renowned metal fabrication company MERKLE, we commission the large pendulum machine designed specifically for the company’s entrance area: The pendulum, nearly six meters long, swings majestically slowly with a period of over four seconds, creating a unique atmosphere of tranquility.

Exactly on the hour, the pendulum is set in motion by the mechanism on the left, which—driven by a tiny synchronous motor—has been storing the necessary energy in a spring barrel over the past hour.

The exhibition at the “Galerie am Lindenhof” in Zurich in 2025 is history.

The reactions were euphoric, even enthusiastic. They encouraged me on my way to enriching the art scene with a project that brings people closer to art again through “SEEING”.

And thus not only pleases the eye, but also enlivens our spirit and enriches the soul through visual enjoyment.

A large number of the images can be viewed online, in motion of course:
