A pendulum machine whose heavy pendulum transforms time into a visual firework display, captivating the viewer with the irritating transparency and interference of its myriad of filigree, fan-like spokes-induced lighting effects.
At around three or four metres in length and 2.4 or 3 metres in height, it is a space-consuming installation whose irresistible presence sets the focus!
A modification of the four-quadrant machine created in 2014 for the Basel watch fair includes four similar time machines at an airy height of five metres, which with their orbital drive and fully mechanical power transmission deliver a fascinating and multi-layered concert of movement. The four sides clock independently of each other and perform a rhythmic concert of impressive complexity with their extended pendulum weights.
