1885: Johann Georg Schlumpf builds the first hydraulic ram, which is installed in a single-family house in Steinhausen, where it pumps water into a reservoir in the attic of the house.

At this time, there are still hardly any village water supply networks, so that in the first decades, rams are mainly used for private water supply in the Swiss midlands.

For more than 135 years, the rams have been manufactured and further developed at Schlumpf.

Special care is taken to ensure that spare parts can still be supplied even after decades.

So even today, wear parts for models from 1905 are still available from stock!

In the fourth generation, Hanspeter Schlumpf continues the tradition of the company.

In 1990, the new "Widder 2000" series is created and developed together with his brother Florian.

After the tragic death of Hanspeter Schlumpf, the rams are manufactured at schlumpf innovations in the Grisons.

Thanks to the development of the high-speed or compact rams, practically unlimited conveying heights are now possible.

Several plants with delivery heights of 500 meters have been in operation for decades.

From 2022, all hydraulic rams, including high-pressure and special applications, will be planned, executed and serviced by our long-standing partner Sigrist Turbinenbau AG, Sachseln - Switzerland.
